Product DetailsDescriptionWork is something everyone – or almost everyone – does, even if it is without remuneration. We spend most of our waking hours doing it. But what does it mean? Does it bear any connection with the coming of the Kingdom of God – even if it is not a stated Christianity ministry? Why work at all? And why work hard or heartily? And how can we go about integrating our faith with our daily work? These are the questions Bruce Waltke and Paul Stevens will be addressing from both the Old and New Testaments, especially the passages that express the wisdom of God on matters of daily life.
R. Paul Stevens is Professor Emeritus of Marketplace Theology at Regent College. He is the author of Liberating the Laity, Disciplines of the Hungry Heart, The Other Six Days, Marriage Spirituality, Doing God's Business and co-editor (with Robert J. Banks) of The Complete Book of Everyday Christianity. Bruce Waltke is Professor Emeritus in Old Testament Studies at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is the author of Genesis: A Commentary, Creation and Chaos, Finding the Will of God: A Pagan Notion?, An Introduction to Biblical Hebrew Syntax, and commentaries on Micah. He also served on the translation committee of the NIV Bible. Related Products |
