Description

Ezekiel is an exciting but perhaps neglected Old Testament book. It falls neatly into two halves, chapters 1-24 (judgment threatened on Judah and Jerusalem) and chapters 24-48 (restoration for all Israel). The aim of the course is to see how this prophecy reflects the mood of the exile and in its own way becomes the jumping off point from which Israelite apocalyptic literature is formally launched in Daniel. A further aim is to see how this transition from doom to promise is effected, reminding ourselves that the movement from Ezekiel 1 to 48 echoes the basic gospel of God.
