Description
At the heart of the Christian faith stands the gospel of God's grace in Christ. The failure to interpret ethics out of the gospel of grace has often led to an ethic that is inconsistent in its content, legalistic in its form and which misrepresents the nature and purposes of the triune God. This series seeks to rediscover the profound implications of the gospel for the shape and orientation of a genuinely evangelical ethic exposing the extent to which all Christian imperatives and ethical obligations must derive from the indicatives of grace. Lectures include:
- Foundation of Evangelical Ethics
- Conversion, Repentance, Conscience
- Trinitarian Ethics; "Is" vs. "Ought"
- Universal Ethical Norms; Value vs. Truth
- Continuity/Correspondence Between Divine and Human
