Douglas Gresham was born in New York City in November 1945 to William and Helen Joy Gresham. His mother would divorce William and eventually marry C.S. Lewis. Douglas met C.S. Lewis when he was eight years old and would live with C.S. Lewis and his mother (until she died) into adulthood.
