Description
This lecture offers some reflection on how and why poetry has served and can serve as a peculiarly fitting instrument of protest, and how poetry and protest at their best draw from the rich tradition of common prayer that knits us together as one Body with many voices. We will look at several protest poems and public prayers and consider how, even in solitude, we may participate in speaking out and for those entrusted to our care.
