Description
This lecture series takes a fresh look at models of spiritual devotion found in early Christian history. For 2000 years now, Christians - in a variety of settings and with varying degrees of success - have tried their best to follow God. This heritage of faith provides a rich resource from which we can draw to protect ourselves from becoming prisoners to contemporary fashions and to enlarge our understanding of what it means to be serious followers of Jesus. Lectures include:
- Finding Courage: The Path of the Martyrs Pt. 1
- Finding Courage: The Path of the Martyrs Pt. 2
- Developing Spiritual Muscle: The Path of the Ascetics
- Belonging: The Path of the Monastics
