Description

This series is rooted in the conviction that the contemporary church has strayed from the biblical assumption that ministry is what the Lord does through the whole people of God. Instead we are mired in a caretaker/spectator model that has limited real ministry largely to professionals. The purpose of this series is to examine the fallacies in the caretaker model and sketch the shift toward an equipping model that moves God's people from spectators to players in ministry. Listeners are challenged to reflect theologically on an organism understanding of the church, redefine the role of pastor from caretaker to equipper, and consider empowerment strategies, such as small groups, discipling, gift deployment, worship style, etc. Lectures include:

  • Why the Reformation Failed to Fully Deliver
  • Changing Models of Ministry
  • Small Groups
  • Discipling
  • Gifts/Call to Ordination
