Description
C. S. Lewis writes of the "inconsolable secret" of our longing for God, a yearning which, though sometimes disguised as desire for other things, is always searching for heaven. Explore what William Blake called "The Arrows of Desire": moments of piercing longing for God. Trace these arrows' flight through Scripture, poetry, and theology. Give special focus to pivotal figures in the tradition: Dante, Herbert, Tennyson, Eliot, Augustine, Aquinas, and Lewis.
