Description
Questions about Christian cultural engagement--in the arts, politics, work and play--pose significant challenges for present day believers. And with an increasingly global awareness, the older "Christ and culture" arguments also focus these days on "Christ and the cultures." We will examine biblical and theological resources for understanding the place of cultural renewal in God's plan for the creation, with special attention to Anabaptist and Reformed perspectives. Lectures include:
- Thinking Christianly about Culture
- The Biblical Drama
- Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism
- The Anabaptist Perspective
- Creation and Culture
- Theology and Commonness
- Kuyper's Theology of Culture
- New Challenges
- Multiculturalism
- Culture and the Eschaton
