Jean Vanier is founder of L'Arche and directed L'Arche in Trosly Breuil and the International Federation of L'Arche until 1981. He now counsels and encourages assistants in their personal journey in L'Arche. Although he lives in one of the homes in Trosly he travels often to visit other communities of L'Arche, to encourage projects for new communities, and to give lectures and retreats. He is the author of many books including Community and Growth.
