Description

Most Vancouverites think about religion less often and less seriously than they think about their refrigerators. It's just part of their mental wallpaper, perhaps, or a pleasant/unpleasant memory that pops up on holidays. This series offers short, but substantial, introductions to the religious varieties of most interest to many of us: Buddhism, Confuncianism, Daoism, Christianity (Mormonism, Catholicism, Evangelicalism, etc), and Islam in an effort to get to know our neighbors, or heritages, and our options. Lectures include:

  • Buddhism
  • Confucianism and Daoism
  • Christianity
  • Islam
  • How to Pick a Religion - or None

This series of lectures was given at the Vancouver Club during the summer of 2013.
