Description

Margaret Visser's three presentations revolve around the concept of saints as Christian heroes. The first lecture. "Recognizing the Heroic" examines the concept of heroism in its original sense; the second, "Another Story" focuses on how the Christian revolution has redefined and affected the symbiotic relationship between the hero-saint and the society which admires such a person; and the third lecture, "Saints Now" looks at the modern understanding of the hero-saint within the context of contemporary culture. Responses are given by Regent College's Maxine Hancock and Loren Wilkinson.
