William E. Rees(PhD, University of Toronto) is the founder of the University of British Columbia's School of Community and Regional Planning (SCARP) and is the author, with Mathis Wackernagel, of Our Ecological Footprint, in which he develops his famous 'ecological footprint analysis.'
