Description
God humbled himself and became a human baby. The source of all strength was contained in the weakest human form. What is the meaning of this paradox? Today our concern to pass down the faith to children can prevent us from being attentive to the spiritual insights of children. How do we respond to the claim that children have a more holistic and mystical way of encountering the world than adults? How have children actively participated in religious cultures in the past? How do our own childhoods influence our behaviour and spiritual identity today? Adopting an interdisciplinary approach and aided by guest lecturers, this course examines biblical, historical, and contemporary issues as we consider the theological significance of childhood.
