Description
Philosophers and theologians have endlessly struggled for answers to the problem of pain. Why is there suffering in the world? Why doesn't God stop it-or is he not powerful enough? Can the Trinity be good if God allows such evil in the world? This series explores how the Scriptures can form Christians to be able to bear suffering, to combat evil, and to comfort those in pain. It is hoped that listeners will gain new insights into the character and purposes of God, and will develop means by which to reach out to their afflicted neighbours with the grace, compassion, and mercy of God. Lectures include:
- What is the Problem of Evil and Suffering?
- The Book of Job
- Healing as a Sign
- Completing the Sufferings of Christ
- Eschatological Perspectives on Suffering
