Description

Prayer as expressive of Christian consciousness, in the personal experiences of God, will be studied historically in this course. This will be explored in the use of the Psalter, The Lord's Prayer and the Anglican Book of Common Prayer, as well as in the lives and teachings of selected scholars/saints within the history of the Church. This survey is intended to broaden and deepen pastorally the contemporary hunger for the personal experience of God. Lectures include:

  • The Apostle Paul's Life and Ministry of Prayer
  • The Early Church Fathers on the Lord's Prayer
  • Augustine's Reflections on the Psalms and His Teaching on Prayer
