Description
No English writer excels the country priest George Herbert (1593-1633) in poetry about the Christian life. As you read and digest his work, you will find yourself immersed not merely in an academic exercise, but in a profound spiritual undertaking. You will discern how radically Herbert probes our deepest concerns about suffering and vocation, belief and unbelief, as well as the prophetic and sacramental life of the church.
