George Grant (1918-1988) remains one of the most essential voices of the 20th century in Canada. He is author of, among other works, Lament for a Nation, an iconic work of Canadian political philosophy. When Grant did his PhD at Oxford, he was involved with the Socratic Club, at which C.S. Lewis was the guiding presence. There is much more to Grant's thinking than a mere echo of Lewis, but many of his core ideas reflect Lewis' dominant concerns.

Join us as Ron Dart introduces one of Canada's most original thinkers, and defends the thesis that Grant can be seen as the C.S. Lewis of Canada. Ron Dart (Phd Studies at McMaster University) has taught in the department of political science, philosophy, and religious studies at University of the Fraser Valley since 1990. He was on staff with Amnesty International in the 1980s. Ron has published more than thirty-five books, including five books on George Grant and many articles (as well as a book) on C.S. Lewis. He is an ACC mountaineer. George Egerton (Professor Emeritus of History, UBC), and Craig Gay (Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies, Regent College) will respond to Ron's talk.
