Description
The advent of postmodernity may support a welcome shift away from the professionalism in counselling fostered by the assumptions of modernity. This movement away from the therapist-patient relationship to community-based engagement will prove beneficial if the church can find both a centre and a consistent model for this kind of engagement. This series seeks to define this centre and to offer a broad framework for bringing healing into people's lives, using the resources placed in every believer under the New Covenant. Lectures include:
- Modernity's Approach to Counselling: A Critique
- Biblical Categories: People, Problems & Solutions
- New Covenant Theology as a Centre for Counselling
- New Covenant Communities: Friends, Mentors & Guides
- Toward New Covenant Communities
