Description
Theology does not attempt to be a rival to science but does seek to complement the latter's self-limited domain of understanding. There are certain 'meta-questions' that arise from science but which go beyond what science itself can address. They include 'Why is science possible and mathematics so unreasonably effective?' (the deep intelligibility of the universe) and 'Why is the world so special?' (the built-in cosmic fruitfulness present in the laws of nature). Natural theology can offer coherent and intellectually satisfying answers to these questions.
