Charles Taylor is Emeritus of Philosophy at McGill University in Montreal. In addition to being a leading theorist of the intellectual movement known as "communitarianism," he had been actively involved in politics in both Quebec and Canada. He is the author of thirteen books, including Hegel and Modern Society and Sources of the Self: The Making of the Modern Identity.
