Paul Freston is Professor of Religion and Culture at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and CIGI Chair in Religion and Politics in Global Context at Balsillie School of International Affairs. He is Distinguished Senior Fellow and Director of the Program for Studies of Religion in Latin America for the Institute for Studies of Religion at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, USA, and Professor Colaborador in the Post-Graduate Programme in Sociology at the Federal University of Su00e3o Carlos in Brazil. He is author of several books, including Evangelical Christianity and Democracy in Latin America, Protestant Political Parties: A Global Survey, and Evangelicals and Politics in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Description
This course will examine how globalization of Christianity has taken place, and who the key actors have been. It will look at who the Christians are now, what their social composition is, where they are located and what sorts of Christianity they practice. Then questions will be asked about what these changes represent for Christianity today, especially in the areas of politics, missions and diasporas. Lectures include:
