Description
In the 1930s Dietrich Bonhoeffer ran an underground seminary in Nazi Germany offering theological education with a strong emphasis on daily communal practices. He described these practices in Life Together, a classic that remains challenging. What might it mean to teach this book? Instead of absorbing it into our standard classroom practices, what if we took it seriously as offering a vision of Christian learning? David Smith explores this question through students' responses to a recent course on Bonhoeffer that sought to integrate an emphasis on formative practice.
