Description
With the demographics of Christianity changing throughout the world, specifically in North America, there is an increased need for ministries to develop cultural intelligence to meet the shifting needs of the church. The current construct of North American evangelicalism poses numerous obstacles toward developing multiethnic churches in the face of these changing demographics. This course explores the process of socio-cultural exegesis, engages in theological reflection, and initiates the practice of developing culturally intelligent communities for effective ministry. By the end of the course, listeners will have explored ways of developing cultural intelligence as an aspect of pastoral identity and spiritual formation necessary for ministry. Lectures include:
- The Next Evangelicalism
- The Cultural Captivity of the Church
- An Emerging Ecclesiology
- A Theology of Culture
- Cultural Intelligence for a Changing Church
