Description
Linlathen is an annual theology conference hosted by Regent alumna, Kirstin Jeffrey Johnson. For more info, visit www.linlathen.com
1) 'Christ and the Poetic Imagination': Theological grounding and a defense of Imagination as a truth-bearing faculty.
2) 'Reflections on Lewis and the Imagination': Considering how Imagination specifically deepened C.S. Lewis's faith, how his imaginative works function for today's readers.
3) Discussion and Q&A
4) 'Tolkien's sub-creation as a vehicle for Prophetic and Poetic Truth': Examining how the legendarium navigates readers through contemporary issues [ie the environment, refusals or evasions of limitation and mortality, etc]
5) 'Looking for today's Inklings': Asking and exploring how we as teachers and writers might continue the work the Inklings began... re-integrating Reason and Imagination, making an imaginative, as well as a rational case for Christ... where is that happening in today's literature and today's academy? Can it? If so, how?
6) Final Remarks
