Description
The unique quality of 2 Corinthians among Paul's pastoral letters results from his knowledge that the unruly Corinthians have become cool towards him and his fear that they will reject him and his apostolic pastoral ministry entirely. The letter is a classic expression of personal humility, pastoral tact and the sometimes painful pathway of Christian love. Its purpose is to ensure the completing of the collection that Paul plans to take to the Jerusalem poor, but this theme is flanked by Paul's personal apologia as introduction and his defense of his apostolic authority. Our grammatical and rhetorical exegesis explores all this. Lectures include:
- Overview
- Grace and Power: The Gospel of God
- Pastoral Persuasion: A Master Pastor at Work
- Keeping On Keeping On: A Testimony to Triumph
- The Cash Nexus: A Bond of Community
