Description
How do Christians know the will of God, particularly amidst the hubbub of these postmodern times? This course will use practices from Christian communities throughout space and time to help us think more clearlyu2014and Christianlyu2014about the ways we try to hear what God is saying to us. Emphasis is placed on the foundations with which we begin processes of spiritual discernment and on ways the community could be engaged in those processes. The class will participate in disciplines from various traditions, including a Mennonite "meeting to discern the Spirit." The purpose of the course is to learn methods and attitudes from the global church, in order to follow Jesus more closely for the glory of God and the benefit of the world.
