Description
What are the biblical and theological resources for reaching people who have no knowledge of God? What are the cultural resources for connecting people with the gospel today? By integrating biblical theology, careful analysis of contemporary cultures, and reflective practice, this course provides resources for reaching post-moderns with the gospel of Christ. It is the fruit of twelve years of full-time evangelistic ministry in contexts as diverse as Eastern and Western Europe, student ministry worldwide, families in crisis, men's ministry and multicultural church communities in London and Oxford. It is also grounded in doctoral research in the theology of evangelism and critical dialogue with missionary theologian Lesslie Newbigin. Lectures include:
- Context for Evangelism; Biblical Perspective
- Faith of the Unbeliever; Unapologetic Apologetics
- Christian Encounter with Other Religions; Christ and Cultures
- McGospel and its Discontents; A Four Dimensional Gospel
- The Gospels and the Gospel; The Gospel and Our Cultures
- The Church as Missional Community; United Body
- The Church as Eschatological Foretaste
- The Church as Hermeneutic of the Gospel
- Reading the Bible with the Lost
- Watching Movies with the Lost
- Worked Example 1 and 2
- Believing in the Future; Twenty-Four
