Description
In the first lecture, Dr. Livingstone examines a range of ways in which the story of science and religion has been told, and identifies problems with each of them. The following lecture begins with a consideration of the state of Darwin's soul, and moves to the soul of Darwinism. Dr. Livingstone identifies some of the weaknesses in the way Darwinian thinking has been applied to ethics, knowledge, and the idea of progress, and concludes by urging that while Darwinism has proven to be a fruitful theory of and concludes by urging that while Darwinism has proven to be a fruitful theory of population change it has severe drawbacks when mobilised as an all-embracing philosophy.
