Description
This course aims to show how the arts, especially music and the visual arts, can contribute to the exploration and deeper perception of Christian doctrine. This is not primarily a course in the arts, but a course in theology pursued in an artistic way. Participants will discover that the arts have a unique and irreplaceable part to play in enriching Christian wisdom: difficult and unfamiliar themes are brought to light and made clearer, and familiar themes opened up in novel and exciting ways. Lectures include:
- 'hearing a music that you never would have known to listen for'
- Living (in) Waves
- '...heaven in the ordinary'
- '...charged with the grandeur of God'
- Thinking Together
- The Improvising Body
