Description
In this lecture, given in the 2007 Winter Term Christian Thought and Culture course, Dr. Charlton examines how, as Christians, we can be global citizens while maintaining a strong sense of 'place'. In doing so, he asks the questions: Why has a sense of homelessness and uprootedness become a characteristic of our modern condition in a globalized world? Why have we lost moral confidence in the local? Have nations become irrelevant?
